Garry Franz
Garry Franz
- Garry’s career in the dairy industry started at a Surge dealership in Langley, in 1977. Over the course of seven years he learned about sales, installation and servicing.
- At the young age of 25, Garry and his wife, Kathy, sold their home and used the money to partially finance the purchase of the Surge dealership in Abbotsford and relocated the new Franz Dairy Centre to Chilliwack.
- In 1988, Franz Dairy Centre became Agritrend Dairy in Abbotsford, only to merge, three years later, with Pacific Germania and become Pacific G.S. Dairy Centre. The company with Garry as its GM, also included Tony Siebring and Dale and Neil Ingwerson.
- 1995 brought many changes. The company lost Dale to a tragic motor vehicle accident, which resulted in John Bruinsma becoming a new company partner and assuming the sales role.
- In 2002, the company found both Tony and Neil wanting to retire. This left Garry and John as equal partners, overseeing 15 staff. From 2002-2022 the company has seen significant growth, boasting quadruple sales and growing to 35 staff.
- What had once seemed like a big space: a 10,000 square foot building on one acre in of land in Abbotsford was outgrown. The search for space ended at the current location on four acres in Chilliwack. Garry’s plans for this new location became a reality in February of 2018.
- In 2019 the company welcomed three new partners: Richard Siebring, Tim Piers and Jack Neels.
- Garry’s most memorable achievements by far, are installing the first two fully robotic rotaries for GEA in North America.
- Garry’s standard in business and personal, is to listen, be fair and resolve issues as amicably as possible. Under Garry’s supervision, the staff at Pacific Dairy Centre has visible respect for each other, genuinely care about each other and treat each other as family.
